Abstract

The main testimony of the ecumenical movement is dialogue. At different times in history, dialogue is assumed as the main strategy for overcoming conflicts and polarizations. Without dialogue, coexistence between churches and between religions is not possible. However, the dialogue cannot be understood as free from contradictions. Based on Martin Buber, the problematized text points out the limits of dialogue and asks about the dispositions of the different subjects involved in the Ecumenical Fraternity Campaign/2021 for the promotion of safe spaces for dialogue.
