Science, Jesus practice and human formation

Abstract

The present article intends to deal with human formation considering, on the one hand, some of the most recent achievements of science regarding intelligence and, on the other, some references of Jesus' practices that demonstrate His skills in the integrated use of intelligence. Recent neuroscience research shows that our brain always acts as a whole and dynamically recruits neurons, from all its parts for every action we take. What, over the last century, has been called intelligence, in pedagogical-formative terms, we need to consider as dimensions of the same human intelligence. Hence it is important to consider all dimensions in the formative processes when we think about integral education and formation. To devolve the subject, after a brief introduction, we will review the dimension of intelligence according to scientific research, and examine how Jesus dealt with the formative processes in daily life to develop each dimension, related to the others. In the final remarks, we will only recognize that we still live surrounded by mysteries with which we flirt to go even further in the adventure of knowledge.
